Postdoctoral Fellow Position in Skeletal Stem Cell and Biology

 

The Lefebvre laboratory in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow highly committed to developing a dynamic career in cutting-edge translational research.

This fellow will take a leading role in one of several projects currently unraveling in the laboratory. These projects include optimizing protocols to convert human pluripotent stem cells into fully differentiated skeletal cell types, such as articular chondrocytes; identifying molecular actions and modes of regulation of SOX transcription factors in skeletal cells from development to adulthood and degenerative diseases; and identifying new strategies to help children with developmental delays due to mutations in SOX genes.

Candidates must have scientific and technical expertise in skeletal biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology, and/or mouse and human genetics. They must have a Ph.D. degree in biological sciences and a strong publication record in top-tier scientific journals. They must demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English and in communicating scientific research findings accurately and efficiently. They must also have first-rate interpersonal and organizational skills.
